ABOUT ME

After creating two student publications, one of which was recognized as The Best Independent Online Student Publication by the Society of Professional Journalists, and publishing Nick Knittel's Good Things with New Rivers Press as an editor, I took a job as a journalist and editor for the Saint James Plaindealer in the fall of 2012 covering politics, crime and events while maintaining a weekly column.

After I moved to the Twin Cities to work with nonprofits – establishing brand guidelines and building out search engine and content strategies to drive donations and awareness – I accepted an offer at Minnesota United, a professional soccer team playing in Major League Soccer. For eight seasons, I've led the marketing and creative efforts for the club, with an emphasis on digital media. Recognized for success in sports marketing, I've been a guest lecturer at the University of Minnesota and the University of Saint Thomas, joined Digital Summit speaker panels and have been featured in Portada with my branding campaigns shown as best practices by Twitter. Under my direction, Minnesota United digital channels have seen year-over-year growth and have ranked near the top of American sports for audience engagement and interactions – recognized as one of the best in the sports industry in 2019.
